Wow, Barca win the Champions League and the trophy will return to Camp Nou. The stand out performers are Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Pique and Etoo. Xavi and Iniesta ruled the midfield.
Messi Vs Ronaldo battle is won by Messi hands down. Pep made the brilliant move to play him at centre to allow him more space to weave his magic and that's what he did. Hats off to Iniesta, playing 90 minutes at highest level after coming back from an injury is marvelous.
Etoo ended his dry run with a cool finish and brought back the momentum to his team. Busquests did his job pretty well. Puyol has done his job as right back commendably. Toure did not have much to do and again Pique made some absolutely brilliant tackles.
Sylvinho, at 35 was remarkable. Left back position was supposed to be the weakest for Barca, but he did not let a single attack from MANU to come through from his side.
Barca won the game in midfield, the place where they are the strongest. Fergie did a Juande Ramos by throwing in four forwards without minding the midfield. They are lucky they lost by only two goals.
Messi's goal was typical of Barca's brilliance. Superb pass by Xavi. The goal was somewhat similar to the one scored by the combination of Iniesta and Alves. This goal killed MANU and they could not mount any decent attack afterward.
Barca have now completed the TREBLE and they are the only Spanish club to do so. What a season they have had and how have they entertained the whole world with their beautiful performance the whole season.
Pep Guardiola has managed the team wonderfully all through the three competitions and he is a major factor behind Barca's incredible success this year.
The most significant lesson to learn from this is, a team can win trophies by playing beautiful football the way it should be played.
