Confused and Nostalgic

It's been a long time since I wrote on my blog. With all the celebrities starting and writing on their blogs, I thought I should write often to keep my audience. As you might have guessed that's a joke.

A few weeks ago watched this Telugu movie "happy days". It's a story about a bunch of guys and girls in an engineering college and their lives. Some fall in love, some don't. Some end up with their love and some don't as the case in real life. It killed me. The problem with the movie was it was very real.

Couple of weeks ago I went to Denmark and Finland for a week to meet colleagues in Denmark and discuss a new project details in Finland with customer. It was my first time in Finland. Helsinki is consistently rated as one of the cleanest cities in the world. I am not sure whether I really appreciated it's cleanliness after going there from Aalborg. Aalborg is as good a clean city as they come.

I wanted to get the hotel booking done near our customer's office. When I asked my colleague where the meeting was, he said it was at the airport. I thought he was joking. But he wasn't. Helsinki air port has six or seven conference rooms so that people could directly go to meetings after landing at the airport and leave immediately after the meetings. I could see the point. However I did have the booking done as I reached the previous night.

I met a very phony lady on the flight to Frankfurt from Bangalore. She's supposedly a big shot in one of the leading parties and was visiting her kids in US. She bragged about her achievements all the time. Boy, do I hate those people. I was so glad that I did not start the conversation as soon as the flight took off. I guess I learned my lesson. I would be more careful next time.

On the way back home they played "mamma mia" aboard the plane. It's a musical with ABBA songs. It's nowhere near the quality of Moulin Rouge which is one of my all time favourites. I was laughing when Pierce Brasnon was singing. But it's a kind of sweet movie and killed me. After that there was this hindi movie "thoda pyar thoda magic" or something like that. I have not even heard of this movie. It was total utter rubbish. But again a sweet movie if you liked such movies.

Barcelona are playing out of the world football at the moment. If you consider the goal difference alone, they are more than qualified to win the league already!! My saturday/sunday nights are getting longer and longer. I just stay awake to watch them play. Messi is totally from a different planet. I think there's planet called Football and they sent him to the Earth to show human beings how to play Football. I keep my fingers crossed and hope they win the league and champions league.

And I am deeply saddened by what happened in Mumbai. we experienced terrorist acts before, but this was beyond all limits. Rahul said Major Unnikrishanan was his school mate at FAPS and was in touch with him until 2 years back. I think we don't realize impact of losing someone until we know them. More than a hundreds were killed and more were injured. It's a tragedy we must make sure will not be repeated. I hope we will not see any such terrible tragedies.

A million thanks to all the brave secrurity forces who put their lives on line to save fellow human beings.

Two days back we had a kind of reunion of college friends. And it turned out to be a rather emotional one. I damn well knew this would happen. There were good reasons for me to go and at the same not to go. Savvy brought her kid, and he was so hyper active. It was fun. That's all I would say. Got back home and went to bed.

Vishy often says life is a b***h. Sorry for the language. But he has a point. I do realize that. I had to edit a lot of draft text as I could not have posted it.

As of now, I am running in Vishy's mode. It will take a while to return to normal mode. I thought of going back to klueless4 and keep myself occupied on weekend. I still got 10 levels or so before I could complete it. But so far I have kept myself occupied with something or the other.

Klueless3 was total fun and klueless4 so far has been a great experience.

On friday night we played pool after a long time. Last time we played pool was back in Jan 2007 and vishy was not there then. I paired with Basu and Vishy with DM. We played 4 games and it ended 2-2. A fair result I would say. Yesterday morning played badminton at Sidhu's place. I learnt a new service which I exercised to some good effect. And played again in the evening at Gurukul. Doing all I can to get my focus back. I think my abdominal pain is nowhere near getting subsided and I think it's time I forgot about it and got on with routine.
