Kimi wins Petronas and consolidates in Bahrain

What a season 2007-08 turned out to be!!! Despite my desperate wish to see Kimi win the world championship (which he truly deserved), until the end of Brazilian grand prix, it looked possible only mathematically. Boy 0'boy, what a driver he proved himself to be, if that needed any proof in the first place.

Ferrari seemed to have provided him with a fast and stable car but he lost the initiative to Hamilton-- someone who impressed me a lot. And it took him a lot of races(really?) to get back into the position where he could challenge for championship, which looked increasingly was in the grasp of Hamilton as the season progressed. I had my doubts though.

Never have I believed there's a better driver as long as Kimi was on track. I guess the (seemingly having an)indifferent attitude whether he won or lost made him just concentrate on driving and not let the results affect him.

I certainly have no doubts who I am betting on this season :-) Kimi is going to retain his championship and stay at the top of the world, Hamiltons, Alonsos notwithstanding. And Kubica.

After 3 races, he is leading the driver's championship and the way he raced in Bahrain shows he knows when to up the ante and stay calm. He looked determined to defend his championship.

What a tragedy that he had not won championship with McLaren. I wish some day he goes back to McLaren and wins.

That makes me a Ferrari fan?I guess not. Massa had a good race. He is someone that's not convinced me so far that he has what it takes to win a championship. He reminds me of Montoya, a brazilian as Massa. And like Montoya, he is fast, aggressive and with a very little brain. I hope he will not fade away like Montoya. Anyway, the season is long and it's only the beginning.

In other news..

I hope some sports channel telecasts Argentine league. It's a sin not to watch Riquelme play football. The only real number 10 that's alive. It's not a coincidence that World number one team(Argentina) is built around him.

The two clubs that play the best football in Europe are struggling.Barcelona lost the sting out of their attack and looking more focused in CL. Mathematically, league is still not out of their reach but it's only a mathematical possibility. It will be theirs only if real Madrid play as badly as Barca did last season who gifted the league to the Spanish capital club.

Arsenal, who led the league for so long have dropped to 3rd spot and seem to have run of the steam when they needed most.

Hope they go all the way in the champions league.

And boy, what's going on with Federer, the invincible?? Seems like he's just giving a few chances to others to win. One must do his part to keep others motivated to play Tennis :-)

And an hour ago or so, Davydenko comprehensively defeated Nadal. I knew Davydenko is a very good technical player but did not guess he would win the Miami ATP Masters. I told my friend, watch out, Davydenko is no weakling. He understood what I meant as the game went on. Tennis needs technically gifted players like Davydenko.
