Weekend

The weekend started early as I left office on Friday evening not too late. As usual had dinner at Dine 'n Sip, with Vishy giving me company. Got home and played music for a while and slept early( around 12-ish :).) Got up at seven and quickly went to Sidhu's place to play Badminton. DM was already there. Sidhu came down in a few minutes. We waited a few minutes for others to complete their game. Without Vishy, we were only three and could not play typical doubles. I played against Sidhu and DM. For the games afterwards we had people join us. We played until nine or so. I stopped by Babai's for breakfast and later saloon for haircut and got home.

I left home soon after as I had to go to bank. I finished that and went to office. Sidhu and others were already at work. I joined them and started my research on stereo amplifiers. Later on, we broke for lunch. I have shortlisted around four amps. In the evening, went to Cinebells to check out the Jamo speakers. I absolutely liked the C607s but they didn't make an offer I couldn't refuse. On the way back home had dinner at Babai's. At home, I played Dire straits, Pink Floyd and some soundtracks including Pulp Fiction while watching football. Real Madrid won again, now Barca lead by only four points. They have a game in hand though. I hope they win tonight. I must have slept really late after three.

I got up in the morning really late when DM called me. I dozed off again and got out of bed(no sofa, I slept in the hall watching TV) around eleven. Called up folks back home and read the papers. That took quite sometime. And I started feeling hungry. Watered the plants, got ready and left for school. Had lunch Shantisagar nearby the school. I was there until 5:30 as we started late. I had already made plans to go to a play in Indiranagar in the evening. So I went there, it's a place called The Ants Store. Nice place. The cappuccino was good. And it's a lot cheaper than Coffee day's.

The play started late at 7:15. The first one was about Macbeth and how the artists felt they were connected with Macbeth's characteristics etc.. The way it was done was nice and interesting. They started out in the front area on the ground floor. And slowly moved inside and upstairs where cafe is located. We followed the artists. The thing was these artists were portraying different scenes all over the place in parallel. So I had choose what I want to see. After we got upstairs, the play lasted for some more time. I couldn't quite follow that part of the play.

Anyway, after a break of 10minutes or so, the second play started. This was a solo performance by Arka Mukhopadhyay. It's supposed to be based on Ulysses. He played the role of a muslim beggar wandering about from one place to another on trains. He was doing that looking forward to his death, in a positive way. Arka also recited Bangla poetry in-between, which I didn't understand much. But I thought he did brilliantly, nevertheless.

The play ended about quarter to nine and I left immediately. Stopped by at Babai's for dinner. I listened to jazz after I reached home as I set to write this post. Not a bad weekend, looking back.
